Jeff's Grandma Duncan passed away on December 13th. It was a bittersweet situation, as she was 92 and missing her husband Everett since he passed away in April. She had made him promise before he passed that he wouldn't wait long to come and get him. :) As the holidays arrived Jeff's mom felt that Grandma would be "home" in time for Christmas, and sure enough she was. She was an incredible lady. I loved hearing all the stories of her life as a young woman closer to my age raising a small family, and some of the things she would do for neighbors and friends. She will be dearly missed but I think everyone was glad she was back with her husband, parents, and siblings now.
The funeral was yesterday, December 21st, in Pleasant Grove.
I tried to catch a few pictures of Shad looking so dapper in his little pea coat.
Tylie wanted to join in... love these two together.
It felt almost like de ja vu as this huge Duncan family walked down and across the street to the cemetery. What a legacy Everett and Nola have left behind in their 300+ decedents!
All of the oldest grandsons were asked to be pallbearers this time, which included Jeff.
Grandma Duncan's favorite color was blue, (royal blue I believe,) so the family all brought their own balloons to send off to heaven after the gravesite dedication. It was really cool to see that many balloons flying away in the snowy cloudy sky.
These cousins are all Jeff's age (except Amy of course...) It's too bad that they can't all get together more often!
