Fourth of July

We didn't do anything over-the-top this holiday weekend, but it was nice to have Jeff home and we enjoyed hanging out as a family.

Saturday night we were able to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks from our house in Springville!  We actually had a decent view without even having to get on the roof!  I love fireworks!

Yesterday on the 4th we attempted to go to the big Freedom Fest Parade in Provo.  Cody and Jess had camped out to get spots for all their friends so it was really nice to actually have a place to sit with a good view. (People are CRAZY for this parade, it's huge!)  But as soon as the sirens went by Shad got scared and never calmed back down after that.  Jeff took him around the corner but he was still fussy and having a reaction to something- he said he sneezed about 30 times.  And the sun was coming out and we couldn't find our sunscreen, so about ten minutes into the parade we left for Shad's sake.  I was pretty bummed, but we were able to go home and get some chores and stuff done in the meantime.  Funny how cleaning can be therapeutic.  :)

That afternoon we went to Lehi for a BBQ.  We had grilled pizzas and had homemade root beer, homemade ice cream, and cake.  We swung on the porch, pitched golf balls in the backyard, and just hung out.  It was overcast too so it was the perfect temperature out, not blazing hot like it has been the past few days.  It was definitely a pleasant afternoon.

 ("Mom, no more pictures!")

Happy Fourth of July!
