Who Needs To Go Camping?

I SPY:

Weeds pretending to be grass

Two extremely run down sheds

Couple of pot holes dug by previous tenants Malamutes

Broken piece of our rain gutter by a red wheel barrow

Couple of dirty white plastic chairs

Can you spy anything else?

Oh wait, I think there's something else out there...

No, it's not the old yellow dolly...

Oh but what is that in front of the chairs!?

That's right folks, it's a homemade easy-access (as in our backyard) fire pit!  

Jeff and I wanted to build a fire pit in our yard last year, but never did.  Our grass (okay weeds) grew until the middle of May when we got our landlord to buy us a mower.  (See this post to see our mighty mower for our mighty lawn...)  Jeff mowed the front yard,  and since it was so ridiculously hard to mow a foot and a half of weeds, we didn't even attempt to do the rest.  So the backyard was pretty much useless all year.

We've started early this year, mowing the front and back regularly.  And Friday we finally built a fire pit!  And we plan to put in horseshoes too.

Our friends MaShay & Jason and Dylan & Ali came out Friday to help us break in our new fire pit.  We roasted bratwursts, hot dogs, and marshmallows.
