It was one of those weekends where you have a bunch of plans, and you have a lot of fun doing it all, but nothing turns out with a "WOW" factor attached...
Friday night Brea and Tom invited us to go to the drive-in with some friends. I've always thought taking a truck to the drive-in with blankets and pillows makes for a much better experience than sitting in the car, so we borrowed Jeff's parents truck from Nikki, even though it had a shell. We decided to take the shell off, and well that little endeavor took longer than anticipated, despite its simplicity. We finally made it on our way up to Brea and Tom's in Sugarhouse and had pizza and breadsticks with them (which Brea we still owe you money for...) Afterwards we headed to the Redwood Drive-In. We planned to see Up and The Proposal, but when we got up to the gate they said, "The truck section of that movie is sold out." Of course it is! Because we went through the effort to bring the truck. Geez. So in order to not hold up a line full of anxious people who would soon be ornery if we took any longer, we picked the first movie mentioned that Brea and Tom hadn't seen, I Love You Beth Cooper and Year One. Let's just say we won't be buying either one of those. I Love You Beth Cooper was just ridiculous. But I'm usually pretty easy to please when it comes to movies, so we definitely didn't hate our experience. We actually laughed about its retardedness afterwards. And I fell asleep during Year One, but the first 20 minutes I saw of it wasn't promising. And we still had a lot fun with Brea and Tom, drinking our 89 cent Sobe's and snacking on candy!

(Cousin Brea and her likes-to-get-smooshed-between-the-air mattress-and-truck-bed-wall husband Tom...)
Plus I LOVE being outside in the cool summer night air, cuddling, watching a movie, even if it's not the greatest of movies. :)

Saturday after I got off work we ran up to Lehi to try and get a few hours of boating in. Alex had already got the boat ready so we just had to fix the adaptor and round up the chillin's.

(Alex, Jared, Tyler, Nikki, and Brad)
We drove over to American Fork marina and pretty much the second after we paid to get in the clouds and wind came in with a fury! Brad had just checked the weather on his phone, saying 2mph winds with a possible storm. Google lied! It was like 30mph winds, and I could see lightning. We were going to go out anyway, knowing that Utah storms usually move pretty quick, but decided to bag it, especially since Jeff's ankle still isn't healed from spraining it a bit ago, Alex had a party, and we didn't have "The Mable." The Mable would've been the only fun thing in that choppy water; wakeboarding would've been rough. Luckily we got our 8 bucks back though. We ended up going back to the house and playing with the nieces instead, and eating homemade pizza Tyler made, but not after we took a picture, fondly named "almost boating:"

After dinner we went home and changed and then Jeff and I went to watch a movie with Brad and Nikki. We enjoyed spending time with them and the movie, but I was reminded how much I don't miss single student housing, and how much I love having my own apartment! I think 15 people walked in and out during the course of the movie... Being married is the bomb! Just in case you were wondering...

I hate it when things don't pan out as planned. But I'm glad you had a good weekend anyway! I love the pics of you two, super cute.
It sounds like you had fun even if it didn't all work out according to plan! I wish we could come up for the 24th. :(
I'm so honored to be included in your funness without the "WOW" ;) We fell asleep halfway through Year 1 too. And the first movie definitely gave me gay goose bumps everywhere. It was good to see ya though.
