Shad and His Buddies

Shad hasn't had many play dates with kids his age yet, but we do have a lot of friends and family with young kids and it's fun to watch them interact when they are together.  I wanted to have a record of all his little friends.

First off he has his cousin Tylie (Peterson), who he spends the most time around.  They are exactly 2 weeks apart.  I hope they grow up to be very close friends when they're older.

Our friends and neighbors from our ward had a son 3 weeks after us, Jesse (Black).  We used to go to the same Sunday School classes and it was fun to watch Shad and Jesse as they grew and as they started to discover and interact with each other.   

4-5 months old.

He doesn't see Jesse much at church anymore since his parents are in Primary and Young Men's, but he does have a few girl friends in Relief Society.  Gracey (Chang) and Amelia (Pease) are a few months older than he is, and Aspen (Jensen) is 7 months younger.  I love watching him discover other kids and start learning how to share! 

While babysitting my cousins kids Shad and Naomi (Runyan) had a lot of one on one time together.  Naomi is a year older, so they didn't interact quite as well as he may have with someone his age.  But they were still cute together.  

Shad and Ian (Miller) are second cousins, and are four or five months apart.  I hope they grow up knowing each other and being friends!

Shad and Hank (Hermann) have been able to play together a few times, mostly when we've had parties or get-togethers with our friends.  Hopefully they get a chance to become friends this summer at Seven Peaks!

Shad and Paige (Kearns) have had a few chances to hang out, but besides staring at each other for a few seconds, their interactions mostly consist of Shad poking her face and playing with her toys.  I'm sure the day isn't far off that they interact more with each other.

Shad has only met Paisley (Metcalfe) once when we went out to lunch recently, but she is only 2 months older and they did a good job sharing snacks and watching each other in their high chairs at Cheesecake Factory.  Braxton did a good job worrying about where they were and how far away they were getting.  

Joseph (Weekes) is only 6 days older than Shad, but they haven't had much of a chance to hang out, especially now that his parents have moved a little further away.  They've met once or twice though, and hopefully they get a chance to play this summer!
